(Earlier story)

William Miller, 47, of St. John’s is facing charges after a female youth complained to police she was being held against her will Thursday night.

Around 9 p.m. Thursday, RNC officers received a report that the youth had been held against her will by a man who was known to her.

The female youth was located one hour later in a vehicle driven by Miller in a wooded area near Torbay.

The accused was arrested near the scene with the assistance of the K-9 unit and is facing several charges, including fleeing from police, assaulting a police officer with a weapon (a vehicle), and four breaches of court orders — including probation with the condition he stay away from a total of 11 people.

He was held in custody overnight and made a brief court appearance this morning where he told Judge Greg Brown the police dog had bitten him.

He was sent for a psychiatric assessment and is expected back in court this afternoon.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Oh, no! The dog bit him. Surely there is something they can give the dog just in case so he don't get sick!!
