Several streets in Marystown are reportedly without power Sunday afternoon.

According to Newfoundland Power’s website, the company is investigating the cause of the outages and does not have an estimate for when power will be restored.

The Burin Peninsula was the subject of a winter storm warning this weekend. That warning ended as of late Sunday morning. Outages are also being reported in Winterland, Beau Bois, Little Bay and Drakes Cove.

The central Newfoundland community of Charlottetown is also without power as of 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Outages reported earlier in Bay View, Black Duck Cove, Little Harbour, Kettle Cove and Purcell’s Harbour remain in effect.

Newfoundland Power is attempting to restore power in several communities spread across the island on Sunday.

According to the electric utility company’s website, outages have been reported in the Twillingate Island communities of Kettle Cove and Purcell’s Harbour.

Bay View on the Burin Peninsula is also without power as of early Sunday afternoon, as is Black Duck Cove on the Northern Peninsula and Little Harbour near Deer Lake.

Newfoundland Power said the cause of the outages is under investigation. It does not have an estimate for when power will be restored.

Environment Canada reports that a blizzard warning is in effect Sunday for central and western Newfoundland and the Northern Peninsula, with snowfall amounts ranging from 15 to 35 centimetres.
