A 42-year-old woman was arrested Sunday and detained for breach of a court order issued in Alberta.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said she was taken into custody around 12:55 p.m. Sunday as a result of an investigation into a disturbance in Mount Pearl.

A 29-year-old man was also arrested around 2:53 p.m. Sunday under warrant for theft and breach of a court order.

The RNC said he was observed by an off duty member in the University Ave area of St John's. He was held in custody and a further investigation is ongoing.

At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, a 47-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit following a collision in Paradise. There were no injuries and minor damage.

The woman was released to appear in court at a later date.

And, around 10:46 p.m., the RNC says officers spotted a suspicious person in the area of Empire Avenue in St.John's.

Police say the 26-year-old male ran, but was located a short time later in a home in the centre of the city.

The RNC said it was determined that he was the subject of two complaints reported last month.

He was charged with two counts of theft and two breaches of court orders.

He was held until a court appearance today.
