It's probably wise not to put away the snow shovels just yet.
After being hit with heavy snowfall over the weekend, there's more snow in the forecast this week for many areas of the province.
Environment Canada is forecasting total amounts of two to four cms today for St. John's and the Avalon region.
On Tuesday, snow is forecast to begin in the afternoon in St. John's and the Avalon with five to 10 cm expected.
The weather office says blowing snow can be expected over exposed areas in the afternoon and evening, with winds becoming southeast 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h near noon, then increasing to 50 km/h gusting to 80 km/h in the evening. The high is expected to be around -1 C.
Similar conditions and snowfall amounts are forecast Tuesday for the Clarenville area, Bonavista Peninsula, Terra Nova, Gander and vicinity, Grand Falls-Windsor, Buchans, Corner Brook and Deer Lake-Humber Valley areas.
Some regions, such as the Burin Peninsula, Connaigre, Burgeo-Ramea and Channel-Port aux Basques areas are expected to get as much as 10 to 15 cm of snow.
Parsons Pond-Hawke's Bay and the Northern Peninsula East are forecast to get lower amounts of two to four cm of snowfall.
Environment Canada has also issued a wind warning for the Wreckhouse area of southwestern Newfoundland and Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity.
Wind gusts up to 110 km/h are expected Tuesday.
Many areas of the province are still affected by blowing snow and poor road conditions from the weekend weather system.
Anthony Paddon Elementary in Musgrave Town and Heritage Collegiate in Lethbridge are closed this afternoon due to poor road conditions.
