RNC release video of break-in suspect stealing cigarettes

The RNC has released a video of a break and enter at the Canadian Tire gas bar on Torbay Road in St. John’s and is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

About 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers with RNC Patrol Services, K9 and the Forensic Identification Section responded to the scene.

A quantity of cigarettes were stolen during the break and enter.

The suspect is described as medium build, 5’10” and approximately 170 lbs. At the time of the offence the suspect is believed to have been wearing white Nike sneakers, blue-faded jeans, black jacket, grey hoodie, white gloves and the suspect’s face was concealed by something grey.

It is believed the suspect fled the area on foot and later got in a SUV-style vehicle.

The RNC is continuing to investigate this offence and is seeking the assistance of the general public. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The public can provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.

The RNC is also issuing a reminder that any person in possession of stolen property can be charged.

    An automatic tranq dart should be ready as video picks up robbery in progress..sleepy time & RNC got ur man!!
