The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested the same man twice Wednesday night and early Thursday morning in relation to two reported thefts.

The RNC said, patrol officers responded around 2 a.m. to a theft call from a business in the Freshwater Road area.

A 31-year-old man who had been arrested earlier, around 11 p.m. Wednesday, for theft at a downtown business was arrested again in connection with the Freshwater Road incident.

He was charged with two counts and theft and, according to the RNC, he was held in custody for court in the morning "to prevent continuation of the offence."

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, RNC officers responded to another reported theft from a business on Torbay Road.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested for one count of theft and released to appear in court at a later date.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, a male driver in the Kilbride area was charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. He was released to appear in court at a later date.

Another male driver was stopped in the Goulds area and given a seven-day driving suspension.
