It's my understanding, from the CBC website, that the traffic lights were flashing red at the time. So, a 4-way stop. We all know how great that works around here!! The only downer is that it may be difficult to prove who is at fault, unless sufficient witnesses step forward.

I wonder if this accident might finally cause the various levels of govenment and the police to start thinking about installing traffic cameras at major intersections to help catch people running red lights and those who can't figure out what to do when lights are flashing. Such cameras are used elsewhere so why not here? How many people need to be injured or killed before this province catches up with the rest of the world?

WAVY, You appear to be convicting the SUV driver to be at fault here, where is your evidence?

Someone else in a too big a rush. Say what you want, tell them to slow down, warn them about driving conditions all you like; drivers these days are savages!
