The RCMP arrested two men Thursday in what police describe as a significant drug seizure in Holyrood.
The men — one from St. John’s and one from Paradise, both in their 30s — were held in custody for a court appearance today.
The vehicle the men were using was seized, as was a quantity marijuana, cash, a 12-gauge tactical shotgun with ammunition, and over 2kg of pills.
The arrest was made about 2:30 p.m. near Furey’s Store in Holyrood by members of the Avalon East District of the RCMP, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services and members from Holyrood Detachment.
Charges to be laid will include possession for the purpose of trafficking, and various weapons offences.
