The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary had no updates to provide on Sunday concerning its investigation into the disappearance of a 20-year-old man from St. John’s.

Joshua Miller was initially reported to have last been seen in the Stavanger Drive and Blue Puttee Drive area on the morning of Friday, Feb. 8.

The RNC’s investigation later determined that Miller may have been spotted that same morning in the area of Baird Place.

Further information provided to police suggested he may also have been seen near the Avalon Mall at approximately 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. that same day.

Miller was reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 10.

On Friday, the RNC said it was looking for additional information to help confirm those sightings.

Rovers Ground Search and Rescue had assisted the RNC in a search for Miller, but police announced last Thursday that search had been suspending “pending any new information.”

Miller is described as 6-1 and 185 pounds with short sandy-coloured hair and blue eyes. He was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt at the time of his disappearance.

When asked on Sunday if an update was available concerning its investigation into Miller’s disappearance, a spokeswoman for the RNC said she did “not have one at this time.”

Is there a website or Facebook group with information regarding the search? I hate to think that nothing is happening when Josh has still not been found. Where can we see updates ?

Also re: the first comment on here. The police report was only filed early Sunday morning around 1am. So this was after the big snowfall, just to clear that up.

I am Josh's girlfriend, to add to the description of josh he is exactly 6 feet tall, same height as me. He has sandy blonde colored hair, he also has multiple freckles on his face mostly around his eyes and nose. He was last seen in a black T shirt, Josh has very pale skin but has freckles everywhere. I'm hoping maybe these descriptions can help, as saying someone is 6'1 and sandy blonde hair, doesn't really narrow it down. I hope this helps, please help us bring josh home.

Very strange indeed, scary actually. The sequence of events, from what we're told, is disturbing. What is the normal "protocol" for a cab driver if someone says they can't pay? Are they to call the RNC and have them charged? Did the cabbie say that to Josh and after a hard night w/ barbarians trying to do him real harm, losing his coat and shirt, being intoxicated, was he scared he'd be charged and then not get into the RNC? His friends said he would normally instruct the driver to go to a bank machine. He may have lost his wallet, who knows? Okay, so if that happened, is the driver to still call the RNC? If you saw an intoxicated, improperly dressed person go into the woods in the middle of the night and winter, wouldn't you call the police for fear of him getting disoriented? And when did people realize Josh was actually missing? When did the search start? There was snow Saturday night so was the search on before that? The police didn't alert the public until Sunday but surely his family and friends noticed him missing before then. I know of two instances where people got lost in the woods and the canine unit was used but didn't locate them. They were stumbled upon a few months later. Did the dogs pick up his scent in the wooded area at all? The sightings of him on Friday, how sure are these people it was Josh? Was he embarrassed of the previous night's incidents and go into hiding? He was scheduled to work on George St. that night so he may not have wanted to go back there the next night. Did the barbarians threaten to harm him in the future? His friends and family say he'd never worry them like this. Josh has family and friends who love and care about him and have no idea what happened to him that night. He deserves to be found and his family deserves to know where he is and what happened to him. It's not a dog or cat missing, he's someone's son/brother/friend/etc.!! Someone has to know something!!

Im starting to think foul play may have had a roll, if he had just wandered off and froze to death they probably would have found him by now

It is a very strange situation. As if he just suddenly wnet from the outgoing person described by his friends a young man who was working and attending university and just got his new car. Then nothing. Doesn't even have his cell phone. That would be a culture shock to most 20 yr olds. If he is hiding he must be getting help from someone. If he is not hiding, God forbid, we may never know what he faced that night.

Have they put posters up around the greater St. John’s Metro area? It’s important to keep reminding the public that he is still missing. Other people must have seen him over the past week and perhaps didn’t realize he was the guy who is missing. It could be really helpful to know when and where.
