The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary charged a 20-year-old man with mischief Monday night after a report of a man being attacked around 11:55 p.m. while walking on Torbay Road near Highland Drive in St. John's.
Police said the man reported he was attacked from behind by a male who stole his money and personal effects.
The complainant was released for a court appearance.
Also this morning, around 1 a.m., the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a residential area in the centre of the city on a report of a person breaking into vehicle.
As a result a 39-year-old man was charged with theft and breach of a court order. He was detained for a court appearance.
