Man facing charges of theft, dangerous driving

A 47-year-old Botwood man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle during an incident in Lewisporte Wednesday.

While the RCMP were investigating a complaint of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, they were advised of a shoplifter who had just left the Canadian Tire store on Main Street in Lewisporte with a large quantity of electronics.

As a result, the accused was identified and taken into custody.

He is facing charges of theft under $5,000 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and further charges are anticipated

The man was later released from custody to appear in court in April.
