Police in Port aux Basques are asking truck drivers to heed the wind warnings that are being issued for the Wreckhouse area.

Three trucks in five days have blown off the Trans-Canada Highway at Wreckhouse.

The latest was last night according to Shawn Skinner of the Port aux Basques RCMP. Port aux Basques Volunteer Fire Department had to rescue two occupants from an overturned truck at approximately 10:45 p.m. They were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Winds were gusting to 122 kilometres per hour at the time.

The Gulf News has video of several trucks attempting to drive through the Wreckhouse this morning during the high wind advisory.
