The RCMP advised media shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday that the Trans Canada Highway west of Paddy's Pond has been reopened.

Holyrood RCMP is reporting that the Trans Canada Highway is temporarily closed as of early Sunday evening.

Vehicles are due to be towed from the area, and police advise that motorists should “use extreme caution in the westbound lane.”

Police will provide a further update once the highway is reopened.
