Mr. Einarsoon, please forgive the government of Newfoundland...they wouldn't know anything about business, or people taking financial risks to make a living, or the profit incentive, or any of that stuff. They're just used to having taxpayer money come in the door, then burning most of it, and handing out whatever is left to whoever screeches the loudest. Why, the province is about to spend millions in taxpayer money to drill exploration wells off Labrador, so that the oil industry...specificaly companies that are quite prepared and capable of doing this kind of work themsleves on their own dime, and expected o do so on their own dime everywhere else in the world....won't need to. So don't feel like they're screwing just you.....they're screwing all of us.

David- Nalcor Energy has no plans to drill off Labrador. As previously reported by The Telegram, and confirmed once again this morning in a call following submission of your comment, Nalcor Oil and Gas are currently conducting early exploration work (pre-drilling) and analysis of data gathered. They are not spending the millions of dollars needed to drill even a single test well.

So...unlike on the west coast near Parson's Pond, where they spent $50 million bucks and then proudly annouced to everyone, including the oil sector players they were trying to lure in, that they weren't going to continue drilling becasue it looked pointless? That Nalcor? ....Well now, don't I look like the complete fool with baseless information!?
