The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities-Newfoundland and Labrador is relocating its office to the Highland Building at 460 Torbay Rd. as of March 1.

The coalition said in a news release today, Municipalities Newfoundland Labrador has partnered with COD-NL to provide the new office space.

“We would like to thank everyone who contacted COD-NL. It is overwhelming to know that we have so much community support.  I want to thank the membership who refused to let COD-NL close its doors,” said president Michelle Murdoch. “It has always been our mandate to be a voice of disability, but at our general meeting, it was very emotional to hear persons with disabilities speak for COD-NL,”

Murdock says Ron Ellsworth, a COD-NL member and community leader, was instrumental in making this happen.

Operating at the provincial and local levels, COD-NL is an advocacy organization concerned with all persons with disabilities, promoting their rights and raising public awareness of their needs. COD-NL works to improve legislation and services at all government levels and network with national and regional groups to support independence and foster positive self-esteem among its members.
