The case of well-known local journalist Kevin Kelly — charged with unlawfully luring a child under 16 by means of a computer — was back in provincial court in St. John’s this morning.
Kelly wasn't in court, but was represented by his lawyer Mike King.
King told Judge Colin Flynn that he is waiting to find out the Crown's position on a defence application to unseal evidence concerning the search warrants of Kelly's computers. Crown prosecutor Shawn Petten said he will look into it.
The case will be back in court March 8.
Kelly, 41, was a senior editor with The Herald magazine.
The charge was laid as a result of Kelly reportedly sending inappropriate messages to a teenage girl on Facebook. He was said to have been sending the messages over a five-week period.
