A convicted murderer has another jury trial set — this time for an unrelated assault.
Steven Neville was back in Newfoundland Supreme Court in St. John's this morning.
His lawyer Peter Ralph and Crown prosecutor Jason House agreed to schedule Neville's trial for Sept. 11. Jury selection is set for Sept. 10.
Neville is accused of assaulting a man with a beer bottle in June 2010.
He's pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a weapon and breaching court orders.
On Feb. 1, following a lengthy jury trial, Neville was found guilty of second-degree murder and attempted murder.
He was arrested after the October 2010 stabbing death of Douglas Flynn, 19, in Paradise. Another man, Ryan Dwyer, was also stabbed, but survived.
Neville's sentencing hearing on the murder conviction is set for March 5.
