It was the perfect day weather-wise to participate in a search for a St. John’s man who has been missing since Feb. 8, but it wasn’t the perfect ending.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) joined the Rovers Ground Search and Rescue Tuesday in the city’s east end in an effort to find clues to Joshua Miller’s disappearance.
RNC Sgt. Rick Thorne told The Telegram Tuesday evening officers thought there was chance something might be uncovered, given the recent mild temperatures and the amount of rain cutting away at the snow.
“No, they never found anything,” he said.
“They just thought to revisit the area and maybe pick up some information by going over it with the Rovers, but it was to no avail,” Thorne said.
The media relations officer couldn’t be reached to find out what the next move is in the search for Miller.

Miller was reported missing Feb. 10, but was last seen by friends on George Street during the early morning hours of the day before.
After an altercation in which he was reportedly kicked in the head by an assailant outside the Sundance bar, according to friends, Miller was put in a cab by himself.
A friend of Miller’s who was with him that night lives in the Stavanger Drive/Blue Puttee Drive area.
Police have asked residents of the area to check their backyards and sheds for any signs of him.
Miller is described as being 6’1” and 180-185 pounds. He has short, sandy-coloured hair and blue eyes.
At the time of his disappearance he was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt, according to police.

I sincerely hope that when a loved one of yours is in need that you are met with a similar response... And if you do really feel this way, have the common decency and respect to keep it to yourself, it's rude and hurtful.
