Corner Brook man charged with forcible confinement

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook has charged a man from that city with a number of charges including forcible confinement.

On Feb. 24, around 6 p.m. the RNC received a complaint from a 20-year-old woman reporting a disturbance in a home in the Wheeler’s Road area of Corner Brook earlier that day.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Corner Brook man was arrested and charged with forcible confinement, uttering threats and assault.

The accused was released on conditions and scheduled to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook on April 9.

The woman received minor injuries during the incident.

Police say the accused and victim are known to each other.
