The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has issued a warrant for the arrest of a St. John’s man in relation to an assault that happened in January.

John Edward Murray, 31, is facing charges of assault with a weapon and theft. It’s alleged he was involved in what police are describing as “an incident” that happened in the area of Ropewalk Lane on Jan. 22, 2013. He will also face charges for breaching court orders.

Police describe Murray as 5’7” and 175 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair. He has several tattoos — a cross on his right upper arm, a shark on his left upper arm, and a tattoo on his chest.

Anyone with information about Murray’s whereabouts is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can be provided online at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
