I would rather see the government money spent on preventing another related tragedy. Couldn't the memorial be paid by private money? Its been four years. Four years of fund raising could have raised a significant amount towards a memorial I think. Davis mentioned the Peter Pan Monument in Bowring Park which was funded by Mr. Bowring, not the government. War memorials are one thing but memorials of this sort I think are better funded by private individuals; in other words, a gift from fellow Newfoundlanders. Let our taxes go towards preventing future such disasters I think.

I would like to see something pleasant , like the Peter Pan Monument in Bowring Park... a place to go and sit and think of happier times, a place where the children could run and laugh, or perhaps a place to sit and read.. with grass, flowers, and running water.. we are still living the horrors of that week and I think we need a place to reflect.

The money should be spent to improve the safety, not to remind us of tragedy. We have too many memorials.

There should not be any night flights until ALL the recommendations from the inquiry are implemented.
