Woman charged with assault, mischief

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to 87 calls for service from early Sunday morning to early this morning.

Here are some details of the incidents:

• A 19-year-old man was arrested in Conception Bay South for three breaches of a court order. He was detained at the St. John's lock-up until a court appearance today.

• Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the RNC arrested a 37-year-old man for uttering threats to cause bodily harm and uttering threats to cause damage to property.

The man was also charged with breach of court orders. The incident took place in the centre of St. John’s. The man was detained for court this morning.

• At 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the RNC Street Patrol arrested a 49-year-old man in the Thorburn Road area of St. Phillips/ Portugal Cove for Impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

The man was released to appear in court at a later date.

• A 27-year-old woman was arrested around 8 p.m. Sunday and charged with assault and mischief.

Police responded to a complaint of unknown trouble at a residence in the area of Empire Ave. It is alleged that the accused assaulted her boyfriend and caused damage to the residence.

The accused is also charged with assaulting a police officer. There were no injuries in either incident.

The woman was held in custody until a court appearance today.
