Joshua Cooper, 22, of Comfort Cove has been sentenced to five months in prison in connection with a break and entry into a business in Campbellton and possession of stolen property.

When Lewisporte RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 343 in Comfort Cove-Newstead on March 4, they were advised of a break and entry that had just occurred at the Kane’s Ultramar on Route 340 in Cambellton.

A quantity of cigarettes were stolen from the business.  The RCMP believed the collision and break and entry were related.

Forensic Identification services assisted in the investigation and the police asked the public to report anything suspicious or any information they might have about the incident.

Cooper was arrested March 7 and sentenced Monday.
