Tires, rims stolen from transport truck: RCMP

RCMP in Lewisporte are investigating the theft of two tires with rims from a transport truck owned by Central Newfoundland Waste Management near Norris Arm overnight Tuesday.

The RCMP says that workers arriving to the site Wednesday morning discovered that two tires had been removed from a trailer parked on Norris Arm Access Road overnight.

The theft occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The value of the loss is estimated to be approximately $1,500.

The tires are a Dunlop SP 581 model with white rim.

Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact the Lewisporte RCMP at 535-8637 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

    Let's let this one slide. Really, next week, they will steal four or break into your home or cottage or car. That's part of the reason that these crimes happen. There are no real consequences for criminal actions.

    Honestly? Two Tires? How is this newsworthy and please please tell me this is not something the RCMP are spending their time on. Three tires I could understand. Four, most definitely, but two? Lets let this one slide. They left most of the tires there sure, its not so bad.
