Bay St. George RCMP announced today they recovered a body located on the shore of West Bay on the Port au Port Peninsula late Wednesday evening.

Police have arranged for the deceased to be transported to the Medical Examiners Office in St. John's where an autopsy will be conducted.

The RCMP says it is too early to state whether the recovered body is that of a duck hunter reported lost in the area on Jan. 28.

The RCMP says it will have more information to release once the autopsy is completed and the identity of the body is confirmed.
