Man charged with theft of donation box

A 31-year-old St. John’s man has been charged in connection with the theft of a donation box from ESSO on Newfoundland Drive in St. John’s Monday.

The accused was arrested, charged and later released to appear in provincial court at a later date.

About 10 a.m. Monday, the RNC responded to the gas station after receiving a report of the stolen box.

The amount of cash stolen is not known.

The accused was arrested without incident.
