RNC investigating pedestrian accident in Paradise

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a pedestrian accident that occurred Thursday night in Paradise.

The RNC received the report around 9:29 p.m. that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the area of Paradise Road.

Police say an east-bound vehicle on Topsail Road struck a woman who was crossing the road where it intersects with Paradise Road.

The RNC said injuries are believed to be of a minor nature.

At 10:47 p.m.Thursday, police also responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Allandale Road and Prince Phillip Parkway.

Both vehicles were heading east on Prince Phillip Parkway when one of the vehicles crossed lanes hitting the other. There were no injuries but moderate damage to the vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's fire investigation unit is continuing to investigate a residential fire that broke out around 4 p.m. Thursday in the Cashin Avenue area of St. John's.

Police say there was moderate damage to the basement area of the home.

Another fire in St. John's around 9:05 p.m. Thursday in the Prescott Street area caused minor damage to a house.

The RNC said the fire was contained to a stove area in the home.

The St. John's Regional Fire Department responded to both incidents and extinguished the fires.
