The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is continuing to investigate what they have determined is a suspicious residential fire on Tessier Place in St. John’s.

RNC officers responded to a structure fire at 8 Tessier Place Tuesday around 9:15 p.m.

That address is the same house where  a 47-year-old man was brutally beaten last week and died Sunday in hospital. Ken Edward Green, 34, was charged with second-degree murder Tuesday.

Police say damage to the unoccupied residence appears to be minor in nature.

RNC fire investigators are seeking the assistance of the general public in investigating the fire.

They are asking anyone who might have seen any suspicious people or vehicles in the immediate area prior to the fire to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
