RNC say cause of Aldershot Street fire is suspicious

The Royal Newfoundalnd Constabulary (RNC) has determined that the cause of a residential fire early Wednesday morning on Aldershot Street in St. John’s is suspicious in nature.

The fire was reported to police around 4 a.m. Wednesday. The RNC said damage to the unoccupied residence appears to be moderate.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is asking anyone who might have seen any suspicious people or vehicles in the immediate area prior to the fire to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
