• A woman who lives on Tessier Place where a suspicious fire was reported Tuesday said she’s heard people threaten to burn down the house more than once.
“It’s ridiculous,” she said, adding residents on the street have made hundreds of calls to officials complaining about the house at 8 Tessier Pl. for more than a year.
She and other residents have said the house, which is also at the centre of a murder investigation, served as a site for illegal drug use.
• New Democratic Party Leader Lorraine Michael took the government to task Wednesday for spending more than $16,000 on a party.
It was held in the lobby of Confederation Building to celebrate the sanctioning of Muskrat Falls.
The government held a reception and formal ceremony just before Christmas, replete with finger food, decorations and a choir.
But based on an NDP access to information request, all of that cost money.
• Neither salvage crews nor satellite data gurus have been able to find the missing MV Lyubov Orlova, but now there’s another tool anybody can download right to their Apple device that just might help uncover the mystery of where the Russian ghost ship has gone.
That’s right folks, there’s an app for that.
