RNC seek public’s help in armed robbery investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the person or persons responsible for an armed robbery at Lawton’s Drugs on Campbell Avenue in St. John’s.

RNC patrol officers, K-9 unit, Forensic Identification Services and the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the robbery on Friday, March 1, about 6 p.m.

Police say the male suspect entered the store and demanded narcotics before fleeing the scene on foot towards Lemarchant Road.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches to six feet tall, with a pale complexion and strawberry blond hair. At the time of the incident the male is described as wearing dark clothing with a black hoodie. The suspect had his face concealed with red sunglasses and a plaid scarf.

The investigation into this armed robbery is continuing.

The RNC is asking anyone anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact the police at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also provide information anonymously on the N.L. Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
