Can someone please explain the logic of end of fiscal year spending? Apparently if the provincial departmens have money left over in departmental budgets they have to find some non-sensical way to spend it or they lose that amount from the upcoming Federal provincial allowances. Well in my opinion that's exactly what should happen. These are my Federal tax dollars as well as everyone else's and I personally resent the irresponsible way it's being handled. Can the Federal goverment have so much money that they can say...spend it or lose it?? what kind of commercial management is that of the taxpayer's money?? How can they say there's no money for important things when they 'force' the provinces to spend unnecessarily just so they can get the 'full' allowance the following year. This makes no sense to me and I'm pretty sure there are many more who would be in agreement. Buying new furniture for offices at the end of the year just to 'use up' the money does not constitute good financial management by either the Federal or Provincial Government. It's waste... but I guess this is what governments have historically been known for.

What about getting rid of the senate? Wouldn't that help the deficit?
