The driver of the vehicle involved in a single-vehicle collision this morning on the Trans Canada Highway near Butterpot Park was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Holyrood RCMP said the accident occurred in the east-bound lane that had to be closed for about 15 minutes while vehicle was towed out of the embankment.

Road conditions are believed to be a factor in the accident.

Police were also called to a blue SUV that was off the road near the Rod and Gun Club in the west-bound lane of the Trans Canada Highway.

The vehicle was believed to be there for several hours. There is no apparent damage to the vehicle so it would be a non-reportable accident.

The RCMP is reminding motorist to watch their speeds due to high winds and water buildup on certain parts of the highway.
