The RCMP in Happy Valley/Goose Bay arrested two men Thursday night in the Labrador community after another man was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a fight at a local residence.

The RCMP were called to the house on Learning Street about 7 p.m. where two men had fought with another male for an unknown reason.

The 37-year-old victim was struck in the head and then kicked several times once on the ground.

The two suspects were arrested nearby within minutes of the assault.

The victim was taken to the hospital in Goose Bay where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

The 29-year-old and 26-year-old male suspects, both of whom are from Natuashish, were held in custody overnight and released today on a court order and will appear in Happy Valley/Goose Bay provincial court on June 26 to answer to a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
