TORONTO — A man at the centre of the Maple Leaf Gardens sex abuse scandal is facing new charges related to assaults that allegedly took place in the 1960s and 70s.
Police say five men have come forward with new allegations against Gordon Stuckless.
He now faces 15 new charges, including nine counts of indecent assault.
That’s in addition to six charges laid last month — including indecent assault on a male — after two adult men came forward to allege Stuckless sexually assaulted them on several occasions when they were youths.
Det. Const. Roger Villaflor says York region police are currently conducting their own investigation related to other victims who have come forward with allegations against Stuckless dating back to the same time period.
Villaflor says he believes there are even more victims and is asking them to come forward.
Stuckless was volunteering at a community centre and sports clubs at the time and police allege the assaults happened there and at other locations in Toronto.
The 63-year-old Stuckless was convicted in 1997 for sex assaults on 24 boys while he was an usher at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto between 1969 and 1988.
He was sentenced to two years less a day, which was later increased to five years, then paroled in 2001 after serving two-thirds of his sentence.

Police say they’ll reveal details of the fresh charges against Gordon Stuckless later this afternoon at a news conference.
The 63-year-old was convicted in 1997 for sex assaults on 24 boys while he was an usher at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto between 1969 and 1988.
Toronto police said last month that two people — now grown men — had come forward to allege that Stuckless sexually assaulted them on several occasions when they were youths.
Stuckless was volunteering at a community centre and sports clubs at the time and police allege the assaults happened there and at other locations in Toronto.
Stuckless was charged last month with six counts of indecent assault on a male, assault and possession of a weapon or imitation. He was initially due in court today to face those charges but the appearance was not expected to go forward after his re-arrest.
