The RNC is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery at Needs Convenience on Merrymeeting Road in St. John’s on Feb. 27.

About 10:15 p.m. that evening, officers from patrol services, K9, forensic identification and criminal investigation divisions responded to the report of an armed robbery.

A male suspect entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene. There were no injuries sustained during the commission of the offence.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’9” to 5’10” with a slim build.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue winter jacket with a white stripe across the front, back and down each sleeve. He was also wearing plaid pajama pants and black gloves.

The suspect’s face was concealed.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the assistance of the general public and anyone who may have information in relation to the crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
