RNC respond to 131 calls overnight

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to 131 calls in the St. John's-metro region in a 24-hour period from early Sunday morning until early this morning.

Among them:

• On Sunday, around 6:30 p.m., RNC patrol officers responded to a disturbance at a bar on George Street in downtown St. John's.

Upon arrival, police say they located one of the men involved and it was later determined that the 34-year-old man was in breach of court orders.

He was charged with two breaches of a court order and was detained for court in the morning.

• On Sunday, around 11 p.m., RNC patrol officers responded to the area of Bruce Street in Mount Pearl to a report of an impaired driver.

Police located the vehicle and arrested a 19-year-old male driver. He was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

The man was released to appear in court at a later date.

• This morning, around 1 a.m., RNC patrol officers responded to a disturbance at a home in the Frecker Drive area of St. John's..

Upon arrival, police say they spoke to the parties involved and determined that one of the men was in breach of a court order.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching court orders. He was held in custody for court in the morning.
