NEWMARKET, Ont. — The man at the centre of the Maple Leaf Gardens sex abuse scandal has been arrested yet again on new charges.
York Region police say Gordon Stuckless, who’s originally from Newfoundland, was taken into custody this morning and will be appearing in court in Newmarket, Ont., later today.
Police weren’t immediately providing details of the new charges against Stuckless.
On Friday, Toronto police arrested Stuckless and laid 15 fresh charges against him related to allegations from five men who claimed they were abused in the 60s and 70s.
Those were in addition to six charges laid last month after two men alleged Stuckless sexually assaulted them on several occasions when they were boys
The 63-year-old Stuckless was convicted in 1997 for sex assaults on 24 boys while he was an usher at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens between 1969 and 1988.
