The RNC responded to 138 calls in a 24-hour period

 

Friday morning, police and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle collision at the bottom of Carlisle Drive,

Paradise. An elderly lady lost control of her vehicle, left the road and collided with the side of West Side Charlies. Very little damage was sustained to the building with moderate damage to the vehicle. The female operator was taken to hospital as a precaution. She had minor injuries.

 

Friday morning, patrol officers conducted a traffic safety stop on Kenmount Road.  As a result a 21-year-old male operator of the vehicle was charged with over 80mgs and impaired driving. He was released to appear in court.

 

Friday afternoon, police responded to a complaint of damage to a property at a residence in the center of St. John’s. A 42-year-old male is being held at the city lockup for breach of peace.

 

Friday evening, police conducted a traffic safety stop in the area of Blackmarsh Road. This resulted in a 32-year-old male being charged with driving while suspended, driving with no insurance and breach of court order. He was held for court in the morning and the vehicle was impounded.

 

Early Saturday morning, police conducted a traffic safety stop at Portugal Cove Road and Higgins Line. The driver had no insurance, an expired licence and owed over $9000 in fines. The vehicle was seized and the 26-year-old male driver was held for court

 

At 1:10 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop at Hamlyn Road which resulted in a 25-year-old male being charged with failing the breathalyzer and  impaired driving. The driver was also issued tickets for operating a vehicle with a suspended licence and operating an unregistered vehicle. The driver was released for court at a later date.

After a traffic stop on Prince Phillip Parkway in the area of Memorial University at about 1 a.m., a 24-year-old male was charged with driving while prohibited and a breach of his probation. He was released to appear in court at a later date.  The vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.

 

Another traffic stop on Water Street at 3:30 a.m. resulted in a 35-year-old male being issued a seven day suspension after being found to be over the provincial limit.  He was released and his vehicle was removed from the scene

    Well.as it looks its not getting any easier,look at the lives sove ,they work hard,and them what really would this society today be like,if we never had the police here?Think before ,you use sartastic remarks,with the cutbacks now coming,i wont be safe to walk out your door ,so pal,look before you speak,unless you drink and drive too!!!
