Two women arrested, charged with theft in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received 183 calls for service in a 24-hour period from early Monday morning until early this morning, but said it was an overall quiet night in the St. John’s-metro region.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested for theft at a St. John’s business. She was also charged with causing a disturbance and breaching court orders and was detained in custody to appear in court this morning.

A 57-year-old woman was arrested for theft under $5,000 from a St. John’s business.  She was released to appear in court at a later date.

 A traffic safety stop on Middle Cove Road resulted in a 16-year-old female being  charged with driving a motor vehicle with no insurance, no licence and failure to transfer over ownership of vehicle.

The vehicle was towed to RNC property.
