Juno-winner Lights joins Tegan and Sara for St. John’s concert

Juno Award-winning electro-pop artist lights and her band will open Tegan and Sara's three concerts in Atlantic Canada this summer, starting with the July 29 show at Mile One in St. John’s.

Lights won the 2009 Juno Award for New Artist of the Year following the release of her debut self-titled EP. Following that, the Toronto based Lights went on to release her debut full-length “The Listening” which included the singles “Drive My Soul,” “Saviour” and “Second Go.” Following extensive touring around North America Lights released her follow up-album, “Siberia,” in 2011 which included the hit single “Toes.”

On April 30, Lights released “Siberia Acoustic,” featuring appearances by Owl City, Arkells’ frontman Max Kerman and Coeur de pirate.

After St. John’s the concerts move to Halifax July 30 and Moncton July 31. Tickets are on sale now.

Canadian indie duo Tegan and Sara will perform at Mile One Centre in St. John’s July 29.

The siblings are touring the east coast in support of their latest album, “Heartthrob.”

Tegan and Sara have sold nearly a million albums in the past 13 years, and have toured with acts like The Killers and Neil Young. “Heartthrob” is their seventh studio record.

Tickets are $35 (including tax, plus service charge) and will go on sale Friday at noon at the Mile One Centre box office, by calling 576-7657 and online at www.mileoncentre.com. Floor tickets are general admission, standing room only.
