Central Health is advising the public that obstetrics coverage and pediatrics services have returned to normal at James Paton Regional Health Centre in Gander.
The health authority issued a news release earlier this week that the hospital would be temporarily without paediatrics coverage April 10-12.
The release stated that pediatric services normally provided at James Paton in Gander would be provided at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor during this time. But it maintained that all health centres throughout the region are prepared for emergency deliveries. The health authority says pediatric services returned to normal as of 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Central Health says it apologizes for any inconvenience the temporary change in services caused and would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.
