A man from Happy Valley-Goose Bay was arrested for impaired driving shortly after midnight Friday evening after he approached officers of his own volition.
According to a news release issued Saturday morning, a 37-year-old was spotted by RCMP officers driving a vehicle on Hamilton River Road. The driver reportedly pulled up beside two parked RCMP cruisers and then exited his vehicle to approach the officers.
Police arrested the man at that time. According to the RCMP, a breath sample came in at twice the legal limit for blood-alcohol concentration.
