Bakala makes 35 saves as Bentley defeats Clarenville 3-0 to win second Allan Cup

RED DEER, Alta. — Dan Bakala made 35 saves Saturday as the Bentley Generals shut out the Clarenville Caribous 3-0 to win the Allan Cup.

Scott Doucet and Keenan Desmet each had a goal and an assist for Bentley in the final of the 2013 edition of Canada’s senior amateur men’s hockey championship.

Chris Neiszner had the other goal for the Alberta club, which also won the Allan Cup in 2009. Brett Robertson added two assists.

Jason Churchill made 30 saves in taking the loss for the Caribous, who play out of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Clarenville won the Allan Cup in 2011.
