RCMP investigating theft of equipment from boat in Fortune

The Grand Bank detachment of the Burin Peninsula district RCMP is investigating a complaint of theft of equipment from a boat docked at the wharf in Fortune. 

The boat, called Francoise, sails out of St. John's. 

The RCMP said the theft occurred sometime over the past month and among the items stolen were:

    • 220-110 voltage converters;

    • Two Toshiba laptops;

    • An Acer laptop;

    • Two Nobletec navigation software systems;

    • A handheld VHF;

    • An Inmarset satellite phone;

    • Three MARPORT travel sensors;

    • Two DeWalt grinders;

    • A DeWalt drill;

    • Various European-made wrenches.

This incident is continuing to be investigated by the RCMP and anyone with any information concerning this crime is asked to contact the Burin Peninsula District RCMP at (709)279-3001 or Crime Stoppers at (800)222-TIPS/8477. 

Anyone calling Crime Stoppers remains anonymous and can receive a reward for any information leading to an arrest.
