Valuable polar bear pelt stolen in Labrador

An expensive polar bear pelt was reported stolen from a property in Happy Valley-Goose Bay late last week.

According to an RCMP news released issued on Saturday, the pelt was stolen off its frame from 341 Hamilton River Road sometime between 8 p.m. on May 2 and 8 a.m. the following morning.

Police said the pelt’s value exceeds $10,000.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the pelt is asked to contact local RCMP at 896-3383 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can be provided at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
