The former director of public works for the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, charged with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust by a public officer, was in provincial court in St. John’s this morning.
Barry Smith, 54, appeared along with his lawyer, Mary Boulos.
After some discussion, Bolis and the Crown prosecutor agreed to set the case over until June 5.
Smith was charged March 27 following an investigation by the RNC. Town officials had made the complaint in February and later voted to dismiss Smith from his position.
