The RNC has arrested and charged a 30-year-old man in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Ultramar on Freshwater Road in St. John’s, April 29.
The accused was arrested without incident and held to appear in provincial court. The arrest came after the RNC released a surveillance video and asked for public help to identify the suspect.
About 11:50 p.m. April 29, RNC officers responded to an attempted armed robbery complaint at the service station.
A male suspect armed with a knife entered the store and demanded cash before fleeing the scene on foot towards Freshwater Road and Empire Avenue.
The charges include attempted armed robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
