A pair of teenagers were arrested in Carbonear Saturday afternoon for their alleged involvement in a break-and-enter at a home in the community.

In a news release issued Saturday evening, Trinity-Conception RCMP said a report of a break-and-enter in progress was received at 4:30 p.m.

The two suspects — a 13-year-old male and a 17-year-old female — were arrested near Water Street a short while later. According to police, they were in possession of items stolen from the house when they were arrested. No residents were at the home at the time of the incident.

Police said the pair will face charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property.

The male was scheduled to appear in Weekend and Statutory Holidays Court on Sunday, while the female was released from police custody on Saturday.
