Two injured in motorcycle-vehicle crash

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded Sunday night around 9:44 p.m., to a three-vehicle accident in the Kelligrews area of Conception Bay South.

Two motorcycles and one passenger car were involved in the collision.

Police say two people sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Also, around 1:40 p.m. Sunday, RNC street patrol members stopped a motorcycle in downtown St. John’s.

The driver owed $29,845.00 in outstanding fines.

Tickets issued included operating a vehicle without insurance, operating a vehicle while under suspension, operating a vehicle with expired license plates, operating a motorcycle without a valid motorcycle licence and failing to transfer vehicle ownership.

The motorcycle was impounded and the driver was conveyed to the lockup, to appear in court this morning.

At 3:26 p.m. Sunday,  a 42-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer after a traffic stop in downtown St. John's.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.

At 11:31 p.m. Sunday,  officers impounded an uninsured vehicle stopped in the downtown area.

Police say the driver was issued a summary offence ticket for having no vehicle insurance.
